All volunteers will get at least one night off between Wednesday and Sunday. Please note, while I am open to shift requests, I cannot guarantee they will be approved.
Wednesday shift start will be at 7 PM
All other shifts will begin at 9:30 PM
Your shift will last until show end or until your house manager cuts you.
If you show up intoxicated or do not show up at all your wristband will be deactivated (RFID allows me to do this from anywhere).
-
Camping is available to you in the festival campground. Every year I do my best to reserve spots for you in Zone 1 closest to the main stage road. That said, the earlier you arrive the better spot you will get.
Please plan to bring all your own camping gear.
-
Attire:
Please wear closed toed shoes for your shift. It’s hot during the day but the temperature drops at night so bring your warm gear to every shift.
We work late each night and the bike ride/walk back to camp can be chilly. Lots of layers! Please bring clothes you can work in and don’t mind getting dirty.
Misc items to bring the people usually forget:
● A hat
● Sunglasses
● Sunscreen - Telluride is closer to the sun, I promise.
● Headlamp
● Water Bottle
-
Everyone will receive a punch card with their credentials for 1 meals per day from catering.
Catering hours are:
Breakfast 7-10 am
Dinner 5-8pm
On Sunday brunch usually goes until 1pm
We try and have after show pizza for every show. I will also have sponsor beer for you to take back to camp AFTER your shift.
Please plan to bring your own food or plan to purchase food in town. There is a grocery store in Montrose that is MUCH cheaper than the ones in town if you prefer to grab food on the way down. I recommend bringing down any non-perishable food from the front range as that will be cheapest by far.
-
Please pick up your credentials from the box office BEFORE your first shift.
I will have t-shirts for pick up at the all staff dinner or at your first shift.
Please make sure you have filled out the size form, or you will get what’s left.
Your wristband allows you access to almost anywhere in the festival including the campground. Please do not abuse this privilege. You are NOT allowed ON the Main Stage or in the Main Stage green rooms. You ARE allowed in the viewing pit right in front of the Main Stage.)
-
The two Firstgrass shows take place in Mountain Village. There is a gondola located on Oak Street Plaza. It’s free. The gondola ride takes about 15 minutes from town to Mountain Village. Please plan ahead and as there may be lines. If you are late to work it’s on you not the Gondola.
Also the Gondola closes at 2:00AM so make sure not to get stuck on in Mountain Village! If you are scheduled to be working after 2AM, I will arrange transportation back to town for you. If you get stuck because you are hanging out and not working - tough luck...

Parking is near non-existent in town, as such, everyone who is not driving for festival purposes will need to park their car in one of the free out of town lots. The best lot is next to to the Mtn. Market gondola station, so please use that if possible. Feel free to bring your bike to get around town!
-
Everyone is expected to be fully sober during all shifts.
There is absolutely no leniency on guest lists or show access for friends unless explicitly approved by me. Capacity regulation is strictly enforced by the fire marshal and our ability to continue to have this series is dependent on capacity compliance. Thank you for understanding.
For the above reason, house managers do not have the authority to approve your guest list requests, please do not bother them about it.
Your wristband allows you access to almost anywhere in the festival including the campground. Please do not abuse this privilege. You are NOT allowed ON the Main Stage or in the Main Stage green rooms. You ARE allowed in the viewing pit right in front of the Main Stage.)
Anyone found to be violating these rules will have their wristband revoked and will not be invited back next year. No exceptions.
